Here is a wonderful piece of history that will always be admired.
An antique miners locket that was made in 1878, and set with a natural uncut diamond crystal.
This really is superb, as genuine miners jewellery is always sought after, but they often come in the form of brooches, so to get one that is versatile as a locket is a true find.
The locket measures 3.1cm x 3.8cm (or 5.2cm to the very top), and is made in 9ct yellow gold.
The diamond crystal is called a “macle” and had such a wonderful look and brilliance about it.
Set amongst the shovel, pick and pan, this will get so much attention, and always be admired.
On the blade of the shovel, is the registration mark with various markings on it. These show that it was made in 1878, and on the 31st. The mark in the bottom section shows the month, however it is very hard to see.
Antique miners jewellery pieces are always sought after and highly collectable, and this is one of the finest around.
