With the white dial as clean today as when it was made, it has those very elegant Roman numerals and sub-seconds and complete with its original hands that themselves are so attractive.
Inside the movement which is not only so beautiful to admire, but of such high quality. The 19 jewelled movement includes a very high micro-regulator and has been adjusted to five positions which is the same today as a chronometer rated watch. The movement has been completely serviced by our in-house watchmaker, runs beautifully and comes with our twelve month warranty.
And then to make this pocket watch even more exciting, is not only the original timber box, but it also comes with its original receipt.

A brief history on E. Howard.
Edward Howard started the Howard Watch Company after the failure of the Boston Watch Company in 1857. He started to produce very high grade pocket watch movements that were signed “E. Howard & Co” on the dials and “Howard & Rice” on the movements.
In 1858 Edward Howard produced the first pocket watch of his own design with the top plate made in two sections and had six pillars instead of the usual four. Balances were made in gold or steel at first, and in later models had bi-metallic compensating balances with gold screws. In 1868 Edward Howard also introduced the first crown winding pocket watch movement, with key wind movements discontinued in 1878. Howard was the first to offer pocket watches that were adjusted to six positions, higher than a chronometer rating by today’s standard.
