Here is a necklace that is so beautiful from near or far and a wonderful testament to the style of the mid-Victorian era in which this was made.
Dating from the 1870's, the necklace was made in 15 carat gold and laid out from end to end it measures 40.5cm in length and sits perfectly around the neckline. However it is the three drop sections combined with the lower chain connecting them that really makes this piece stand out.
The two side drop measure 4.2cm in length and the centre one 5cm, and not only is it set with a pearl in the centre like the side one, but it is also set with six rose cut diamonds that capture the light beautifully. These drops really are magnificent to admire and make you appreciate the elegance of the Victorian era in which this was made.
And then there is the final pièce de résistance to this necklace to take it even further into making this even more special and personal. The back of each of the drops has been fitted with a locket that once photos of loved ones are placed inside, will make this so much more special and personal to the wearer.
This is such a magnificent antique necklace that is sure to become a treasured family heirloom.
