Guilloché enamel is a technique where the gold or silver is engraved prior to the enamel being fired upon the surface resulting in a wonderful pattern coming from below the enamel as can be seen here in this wonderful antique photo locket
Dating from 1913, this photo locket was made in 15ct rose gold and has the most beautiful purple enamel on the front which is then made even more special by being set with 17 rose cut diamonds.
The hexagonal shape of the locket measures 16.9mm across by 28mm from the bottom to the very top of the bail for the chain to go through. This top part is also set with a further 3 rose cut diamonds to add to the charm of an already truly delightful piece.
The back is where a photo can be set and is engraved "KB" at the top and "8th July 1913" at the bottom.
Day or night, this antique enamelled locket will always look so elegant on a necklace and is destined to continually be admired and appreciated.
