Dating from the late Victorian era of the 1890's, this locket has the most gorgeous enamel front that not only has a floral scene, but the lovely sentiment “Many happy returns of the day“. With gorgeous engraving on the front, this is followed on with more hand engraving on the back showing how much attention to detail went into making this gorgeous locket all those years ago.
The case is a 9ct rose gold back and front locket meaning that it has a solid plate of rose gold that was pressed over a metal to allow it to be strong enough to hold the photos inside and also be beautifully hand engraved.
Measuring 20.3mm by 25.7mm or 33.5mm to the top of the ring, this is such a beautiful and romantic antique locket that can hold two photos inside and always be admired no matter which side of the locket is being shown.
