The French really know how to make such elegant jewellery and here is a magnificent antique necklace made in France during the Art Nouveau period of the late 1800’s.
Dating from around 1895, Art Nouveau jewellery is easily characterised by feminine designs and a free flowing style inspired by nature as can be seen here in this necklace.
Made in 18ct yellow gold, the necklace is designed with five elegant floral designs which look so charming on the neckline and is highlighted with four natural pearls between each one.
Measuring 42cm from end to end allows this to sit so gracefully on the neckline and look so beautiful during the day or night. Where the sections of flowers start at one end and finish at the other measures 12.5cm in length and the necklace is hallmarked with the French mark for 18ct gold.
Art Nouveau jewellery is just as popular today as it was over 100 years ago and this is a wonderful example of French Art Nouveau jewellery at its finest and most elegant.
