Antique gold and silver bangle made in 1883
$1,250.00
The work and detail in this bangle is just so beautiful to admire and is made all the more incredible when you realise that it was made over 140 years ago and is as eye catching today as when it was made.
Made in Birmingham in 1883, not only was this bangle made in sterling silver, but the lovely floral design is highlighted with rose gold as well as the much rarer green gold.
Gold can be made various colours such as rose gold by adding copper when it is being alloyed and green gold can be produced by adding more silver or even cadmium, and this can be seen in some of the leaves that have the most beautiful and delicate green colour that accentuates them perfectly. Antique jewellery is often so unique, and the combination of gold colours truly exemplifies this.
Then the work on each side of the bangle adds to the charm of this bangle even more, and with the silver balls running along each side, the bangle measures 3.4cm wide on the front section, and 3cm wide at the back.
With the advantage of being a hinged bangle, this will allow it to sit nice and close to the wrist as well as making it so comfortable to wear all the time, day or night and always look superb on the wrist.
This is a truly remarkable antique bangle that exemplifies the beauty and character of the Victorian era.
