Here is a very elegant and regal looking antique locket set with pearls and diamonds in a border of enamel in such a stylish design that is sure to always be admired whenever it is worn.
Made in 15 carat gold in the 1880's, the locket measures 30mm across by 34mm or 47.4mm to the top of the bail and would look great on a chain and even more fantastic on a nice wide antique collar. No matter how it is worn, it has the size and presence to always be noticed and once photos are placed inside, this will become such a personal piece to the wearer.
Able to hold two photos inside, on the front the border of pearls are framed by a channel of blue enamel that contrasts so well against not only the pearls but also the gold. And then on the buckle section are two rose cut diamonds to add a further element of charm and style and glint delicately in the light.
With a look and style that will always be admired, this is a wonderful example of a genuine antique locket that is 140 years old, and still looks magnificent.

Antique locket set with pearls and diamonds in a border of enamel
This antique photo locket dates from the Victorian period of the 1890's. Set with two rose cut diamonds, these were first cut in India at the end of the 15th Century, this cut was perfected at the diamond cutting workshops in Antwerp and Amsterdam, and was very popular during most of the 16th and 17th centuries. Because the base of the diamond was flat, stones were often foiled back to improve the brilliance of the stone. This was achieved by applying foils or tints to the base of the stone.
