Antique opal and diamond lozenge shaped ring

 Here is a truly stunning antique opal and diamond ring with a sensational solid black opal that has so much play of colour it is captivating and looks amazing day or night and is really a great example of a top quality Australian opal and why they are regarded as the best in the world.

 This opal and diamond ring was all hand made in the late Victorian era around 1890 in 18ct yellow gold and is in a stunning lozenge shape that looks so good on any finger.

 From end to end, this ring measures a very elegant 24.2mm in length by 11.5mm from side to side and sits so well on the finger.

 Not only are there the 16 diamonds surrounding the opal, there is also one more at each end. The diamonds used in this ring are the lovely old European cut diamonds which were the forerunner to today's modern round brilliant cut and the total weight of the diamonds is 1.44 carats and this lovely antique opal and diamond ring certainly sparkles thanks to the diamonds.

 The real star of this ring has to be the stunning opal. The spectral colours that come off this opal is mesmerising and what a fine quality opal is all about.

 With the wonderful lozenge shape, the diamonds that sparkle wonderfully to the gorgeous solid black opal as the star of this ring all go to make this a superb example of a very fine late Victorian antique opal and diamond ring for any connoisseur of fine antique jewellery.
