Antique opal and diamond pendant

$26,800.00

Here is one of the finest antique opal and diamond pendants that you could ever come across and one that is so versatile.

Beautifully hand made in 18ct yellow gold in the late Victorian era of the 1890's, this exquisite antique pendant is also a locket to hold a photo of someone close to you and made even more versatile by being able to be detached from the pendant and worn as an elegant diamond pendant.

Set into the centre of the heart is a gorgeous solid Australian opal that has so much fire and colour to it and shows the spectral colour and is surrounded by thirty diamonds that total 1.80 carats.

Then the bow at the top is set with a further eighteen diamonds with an additional diamond weight of 0.88 carats bringing the total diamond weight of 2.68 carats.

The heart measures 22.7mm across by 22.2mm or 26.5mm from the bottom to the top of the link, and the bow itself measures 25.9mm across by 39.9mm

And then there is the reason why antique jewellery is just so amazing. Not only does it double as a photo locket, but the pendant can be removed and worn as a diamond pendant and if this wasn't enough, the chain is able to be removed and the top bow and heart is able to be worn as a brooch.

This is such a spectacular antique opal and diamond pendant cum brooch that is so versatile and is even presented in its original box that adds its own special charm and character.
