Antique ring with hearts and ivy made in 1903
There is often so much “hidden” symbolism in antique jewellery, and here is a very romantic example in this ring made in the Edwardian era.
Made in 18 carat gold in 1903, the ring is designed with both hearts and ivy. While the hearts may seem obvious in their meaning, the use of ivy leaves adds to the romanticism even more.
Over the centuries, ivy was used to represent ever lasting love, friendship or marriage, that makes this ring even more special. The attractive design not only looks beautiful, but adds to the charm and character that is often seen in antique jewellery.
Measuring 9.8mm wide at the top, and tapering down to 3.4mm wide at the back, this ring will so easily suit being worn on any finger and will no doubt be given and accepted with love.
