Made in 9ct rose gold, the colour alone of the gold has that delightful warm tone to it that is often missing in modern rose gold. Whereas modern rose gold is often very pink and coppery in colour, this antique guard chain has such a beautiful warm colour that will always be admired.
With a swivel at one section to attach whatever the heart desires, the length will easily allow it to be doubled over and worn at different lengths. The chain design is so tactile to run through your fingers, and then there are the twelve additional fancy sections that add such an attractive element to this chain.

Guard chains were originally designed for a woman to wear around her neck with her fob watch attached. Muff chains followed the same principle and were designed to attach the woolen muff to, so when the lady went inside, she could remove her hands from the muff. This antique guard chain was in the late 1800's and measures 154 cm in length. Made in rose gold, the colour of the rose gold is so sought after today due to its soft rose colour instead of the more modern very coppery colour. This antique guard chain is in excellent condition and made of such a unique design.
