Antique ruby and diamond snake ring made in 1912

Queen Victoria made such an impact on fashion including jewellery and it is no surprise that after she was given an engagement ring from Prince Albert that rings designed as snakes increased in popularity dramatically, and here is a very attractive antique snake ring set with a ruby and a diamond.

Made in 9ct gold in Chester in 1912, this ring is designed as two entwined snakes and is so smooth making it practical to wear all the time as it wont catch or be caught on anything.
At its widest part in the centre, the ring measures 10.5mm wide and tapers down the back to 4mm wide.

One head is set with a 0.14 carat ruby and the other head a 0.05 carat diamond.
The smooth finish of this antique snake ring along with the ruby and diamond and of course the history that is so often associated with antique jewellery, all go to make this a wonderful piece of history that you can wear on your finger every day and always feel the love and romance associated with it.
