Antique silver rose and green gold bangle

$1,900.00

Here is a stunning antique bangle that was made in the late Victorian era of the 1890’s and will certainly be a wonderful conversation starter.

Made in sterling silver and measuring an impressive 3.2cm wide, the design on the front not only has such a beautiful design that is complimented by hand engraving, but is highlighted with rose gold and the much rarer green gold that is used perfectly to highlight the leaves.

For centuries gold has been made in different colours by being alloyed with other metals. Rose gold is produced by primarily adding copper to the gold for example, and years ago green gold was made by adding silver to the gold or cadmium. This results in a lovely soft green colour, that looks stunning and showcases just how special and unique antique jewellery can be.

Being oval and hinged, this will allow the bangle to sit perfectly to the wrist, and will look absolutely stunning day or night, and will always get the admiration that it rightly deserves.

Antique silver rose and green gold bangle

Antique silver rose and green gold bangle made in the Victorian era of the 1890’s.

What is green gold?

Gold is alloyed with other metals that results in producing different colours. Rose gold is made by primarily adding copper to the gold when being alloyed. This results in a lovely warm tone to it. Today green gold is made by adding silver to the gold, however the green colour is more a soft green-yellow colour. Years ago cadmium was added resulting in a stronger colour. While never a strong green such as yellow or white gold, the tone of green in antique pieces is more pronounced especially when set against sterling silver.
