Antique sterling silver earrings highlighted with rose and green gold
Green gold was is sometimes seen in jewellery of the late 1800’s. Made today by the absence of adding silver to the alloy, years ago cadmium was often added. While perfectly safe to touch today, while molten, cadmium gives off toxic fumes hence its relatively short use in jewellery making. These antique earrings from the late Victorian era, display not only rose gold, but green gold as well.
