Swallows are often seen in Victorian and Edwardian jewellery, and they were often given to loved ones of fishermen and sailors to wish them a safe return, and here is a charming antique pendant set with pearls and a peridot being held by the swallow.
Made in 9 carat gold in the early 1900's Edwardian era, peridot was also King Edward's lucky stone, so is also often seen in jewellery of this era.
Measuring 25.7mm across by 32.5mm to the top of the bail, the swallow is highlighted by the seed pearls and of course the sweet peridot that is being held by its mouth.
This antique pendant will not only look so elegant and charming around the neck, but will also be admired for its simple beauty and elegance and so easily suit any occasion.
