Here is such a beautiful and unique bangle that is destined to always be admired each time that it is worn.
Made in Russia in St Petersburg in the 1890's, this bangle was made in 14 carat rose gold. The colour of the rose gold alone is so beautiful and has such an incredible warmth to it that perfectly highlights the turquoise and diamonds that are set into the bangle.
Set with seven pieces of turquoise and eight rose cut diamonds that total 0.23 carats, the combination of the turquoise and diamonds is a perfect match, made all the more special by the rose cut diamonds.
Not only is this bangle hinged allowing it to sit perfectly on the wrist, and not only is it hinged at the top where the bangle meets the turquoise and diamond section, but it is actually hinged on both sides allowing either a left or right handed person take this on and off so easily.
As beautiful today as when it was made, this is such a regal piece that will be adored forever.

Antique turquoise and diamond bangle made in Russia
Antique turquoise and diamond bangle made in Russia in the 1890's. This antique bangle is set with rose cut diamonds and was made in 14 carat rose gold. Antique jewellery from Russia is so sought after, and this antique bangle was made in St Petersburg.
The rose cut diamond:
The rose cut diamonds resembles a rose bud, comprising of a flat base with a number of triangular facets arranged in rows above each other, meeting at a sharp point in the centre.
First manufactured in India at the end of the 15th Century, this cut was perfected at the diamond cutting workshops in Antwerp and Amsterdam, and was very popular during most of the 16th and 17th centuries.
Because the base of the diamond was flat, stones were often foiled back to improve the brilliance of the stone. This was achieved by applying foils or tints to the base of the stone.
For a number of years, diamond cutters experimented with variations of the rose cut, resulting in some truly amazing cuts, such as the Dutch rose, half-Dutch and the boat- shaped rose.
