Antique Victorian amethyst and pearl pendant
The colours in the amethyst set into this pendant are so vibrant and are a perfect accompaniment for the white pearls as they both come together to showcase such an attractive design – one that is not only so beautiful, but as fashionable today as when it was made over a century ago.
Made in 15 carat gold in the late Victorian era of the 1890’s. the pendant measures 20mm across by 43.5mm to the top of the pearl set bail and looks magnificent around the neck.
The design is so attractive and will so easily suite any woman of any age, as well as being perfect to wear day or night.
This is a wonderful example of Victorian jewellery that has never gone out of style, and will no doubt always be admired each time that it is worn.

When was the Victorian era?
The Victorian era was from 1837 until 1901. Until Queen Elizabeth II, Queen Victoria was the longest ruling monarch in British history. Queen Victoria was influential in not just politics, but also fashion. After Prince Albert died in 1861, Queen Victoria went into a perpetual state of mourning. During this time until her death, she wore only black, and popularised mourning jewellery.
