Art Deco diamond engagement ring hand made in the 1920’s.
This vintage Art Deco diamond engagement ring was entirely hand made in platinum. Platinum was the metal of choice during the Art Deco period, as it is the purest metal used in jewellery and never needs rhodium plating as modern white gold does and is also incredibly strong. Able to be drawn into a fine wire and still retain so much strength, this is the reason why many Art Deco brooches for example have such fine and precise detail and are still in excellent condition today. This particular Art Deco engagement ring is claw set in the centre with a European cut diamond and highlighted on each side by single cut diamonds. In a traditional and very elegant design, this is the epitome of an Art Deco diamond engagement ring that will also easily accommodate a wedding band worn next to it. This diamond engagement ring comes from an era that has never gone out of fashion or style and remains the most popular era for engagement rings today.
