A negligee pendant is one that has two suspended drops often of different lengths in an asymmetrical design as can be seen here in this genuine Art Deco jade and diamond platinum negligee pendant.
Dating from the 1920's, this pendant is so elegant in design and looks incredible with the pure white from the platinum, combined with the sparkle from the diamonds and the gorgeous green from the jade.
The lace style work seen in the pendant could have only been achieved in platinum as even white gold could not have been drawn into such a fine wire and retain its strength, which is just one advantage of platinum and why it was so popular in the Art Deco period of the 1920's to the 1940's.
Set with a total of forty European cut diamonds, these diamonds total 1.10 carats and sparkle magnificently and then there are the two jade drops at the bottom which really set this negligee pendant apart from so many other pendants.
The distance from the lower jade piece to the top of the bow measures 5.8cm and laid out from end to end this necklace measures 48cm and sits perfectly on the neckline.
With the rich green colour from the jade highlighted with the sparkle from the diamonds and the elegance of the Art Deco era, all come together perfectly in this negligee pendant that will always be admired and loved.
