Art Deco ruby and diamond negligee necklace made in France

A negligee necklace is one that has two suspended drops of different lengths, and combine this with a piece that was made during the Art Deco period of the 1920’s, and you have a magnificent necklace such as this one here.

Beautifully hand made in France in 18 carat yellow gold and platinum, this is one of the most elegant examples of a genuine Art Deco necklace around and one that will not only always get the attention that it deserves, but will become a family heirloom.

So exquisite in design, the top bow is reminiscent of the earlier Art Nouveau era and is set with eight rose cut diamonds. Then leading down on two stems, each set with more rose cut diamonds, this leads to the stunning cluster of more rose cut diamonds surrounding those vibrant rubies with a pearl in the centre. Looking closely at the cluster, each setting is so intricate and highlights the quality of this necklace. The diamonds come together to total 0.20 carats and the rubies 0.44 carats.

Attached to a chain that is enhanced not only with a beautiful design but natural pearls, laid out from end to end the chain measures 43cm in length and from the top bow design to the lowest ruby and diamond cluster, this distance measures 5.5cm.

As spectacular today as when it was made in France 100 years ago, this is a magnificent necklace that will make any woman walk tall and proud with this around her neck.
