Art Deco jewellery of the 1920’s to the 1940’s created a whole new style of jewellery and fashion and today Art Deco rings are just as popular and sought after as when they were made all those years ago, and here we have a fantastic example of an Art Deco sapphire and diamond ring that is perfect for any occasion and finger including making a super Art Deco engagement ring.
Perfect in all respects, it was all hand made in 18ct yellow gold and platinum in the mid-1920’s and is a wonderful geometric rectangle shape that looks divine on the finger.
The top of the ring measures 19.2mm by 9.5mm wide and is set with 28 diamonds and of course the sapphire in the centre which stands out so well against all the diamonds.
Typical to rings of the Art Deco era, there are 3 more diamonds on each side to add to the sparkle and elegance of this Art Deco ring.
Platinum was very popular for the jewellers of the 1920 Art Deco period due to its pure white colour, ability to solder perfectly on top of gold and wonderful advantage of being drawn very fine while still retaining its strength.
With a total diamonds weight of 0.87 carats, and the sapphire 0.30 carats there is certainly sparkle to this sapphire and diamond ring.
For something very unique and special as an engagement ring you really can not go past a ring from the Art Deco era and having a sapphire and diamond Art Deco ring on your finger is truly a one of a kind piece to be treasured for a lifetime.
