Belle Époque aquamarine and diamond festoon necklace

The Belle Époque era coincided with the late Victorian period of the 1890's through the Edwardian period of the early 1900's, and like the Art Nouveau period, stopped at the outbreak of World War One in 1914, and here is a truly decadent Belle Époque aquamarine and diamond festoon necklace that is certainly a showstopper.

A festoon necklace is one where there is more than one chain or strand and this one has been exquisitely hand made in 18ct gold and platinum to the highest standard achievable.

The quality of craftsmanship is equally matched by the quality of the aquamarines, diamonds and natural pearls and it is incredible to think that this was so beautifully hand made over 100 years ago and is not only is in superb condition but will still impress and delight all who see it.

Set with five aquamarines that are all perfectly matched in colour, they all have such a perfect blue colour and total an impressive 16.80 carats. The way that are interlinked by the elegant platinum chain adds so much more character to the necklace. And the chain section itself is even set with natural pearls that add that extra style and sophistication to an already incredible piece of jewellery. There are a total of 18 natural pearls that are set work so well with the pure white of the platinum and then to highlight the entire necklace, there are 17 rose cut diamonds and one European cut diamond with a total diamond weight of 0.39 carats. These diamonds sparkle so elegantly and combined with the aquamarines, pearls and design of the necklace itself, truly make this such an incredible necklace.

With the chain measuring 44cm, this will allow the aquamarine, diamond and pearl section to sit perfectly on the neckline and this is truly one of those special pieces where you will get the dress to match the necklace, rather than the other way around.
