Here is a beautiful early Australian antique locket by Aronson that is in superb condition even well after 100 years has passed and looks as good today as when it was made.
The jewellery company Aronson have become known as one of Australia's most prolific jewellers whose jewellery has become very sought after in recent years.
More often than not, many antique lockets are made in rolled gold and are often stamped or called gold lined, meaning there is sheet of gold that has been bonded to a base metal, whereas this one is in solid gold. Not only this, but it also retains its original matte finish and has such an incredible tone and texture to it.
Measuring 25.9mm across by 31mm or 35.7mm to the top of the locket, inside it will hold two photos in its elegant shield shape.
Above the locket is a delightful finial with a ball style at each end and it is stamped with the makers mark denoting Willis.
As beautiful today as when it was made, this is not only a wonderful locket, but a wonderful piece of early Australian jewellery that can be worn and loved.
