Edward Prior triple case pocket watch

Here is an incredible Edward Prior triple case pocket watch made in 1863, that has just undergone a full restoration and is not only in wonderful condition but runs perfectly. Made in 1863, there are so many wonderful aspects of this pocket watch. Firstly it is a triple case pocket watch meaning that there are three cases to this pocket watch as opposed to two in a pair case. There is the sterling silver inside case which measures 48mm across and then the inner case protecting it which measures 52mm and finally that incredible tortoiseshell case that measures an impressive 62mm across.
The tortoiseshell case is further highlighted with sterling silver aspects which add to the character of the case and the pocket watch as a whole and looks and feels marvelous to hold in the palm of your hand.
Looking at the dial, it has what is referred to as a Turkish dial which is so unusual and gives it that other element over other pocket watches.
And then there is the gorgeous movement that has undergone a full restoration and is in brilliant condition. It is a key wind fusee verge movement with a wonderful hand engraved balance cock and from all angles you can see how well it has come up after a service and even well after 150 years still keeps incredible time.
This antique triple case pocket watch feels and looks so good to hold and admire, and as each layer is exposed all the way to the lovely movement, it really is a treasure to behold.
