So called night and day bracelets, as one side has an engraved pattern on the links, and the other side plain, it was thought that the bracelet could be worn reversible going from the day into the evening, however even 100 years ago when this particular gate bracelet was made, it is more likely that the engraved side would have been shown off with pride.
The colour of the rose gold is so beautiful and has that gorgeous warm rose tone to it that looks even better on the skin. With the bracelet measuring 2cm wide by a full 20cm in length, it is also fitted with the most beautiful hand engraved heart shaped padlock fitted with a safety chain.

The term “night and day” is often used for bracelets where one side has a pattern and the other plain. It was thought that the plain side was worn during the day, and the patterned side was worn during the night. As lovely as this sounds, it was more likely that the engraved side would have been worn all the time. This is because often the plain side may be stamped with a hallmark. Night and day bracelets are often found in antique curb link bracelets and antique gate bracelets.
