Gate link bracelets wrap so beautifully around the wrist, and here is a very elegant Edwardian era 9 carat rose gold night and day gate bracelet that was made in 1909.
Called night and day bracelets, as one side has an engraved pattern on the links, and the other side plain, it was thought that the bracelet could be worn reversible going from the day into the evening, however even 100 years ago when this particular gate bracelet was made, it is more likely that the engraved side would have been shown off most times.
The link design is just gorgeous and combined with the beautiful warm hue from the rose gold, this will make sure that this will always be admired every time that it is worn. With the links measuring 1cm wide by 19cm in length, attaching the bracelet together is the gorgeous hand engraved heart shaped padlock. Hand engraving always looks so much more elegant and special than machine engraving, and this beautiful padlock adds so much more charm and character to the bracelet.
Fitted with a safety chain for added security, this antique rose gold gate bracelet looks and feels so special on the wrist.

The term “night and day†is often used for bracelets where one side has a pattern and the other plain. It was thought that the plain side was worn during the day, and the patterned side was worn during the night. As lovely as this sounds, it was more likely that the engraved side would have been worn all the time. This is because often the plain side may be stamped with a hallmark. Night and day bracelets are often found in antique curb link bracelets and antique gate bracelets. Rose gold was often used over yellow gold. Rose gold is made by the addition of copper as an allow, resulting in a very lovely warm tone of rose.
