Exquisite Art Deco onyx diamond and chalcedony brooch

$5,350.00

What a magnificent example of just how beautiful Art Deco jewellery is.

Hand made in 15 carat gold and platinum in the 1920’s, this is an exquisite brooch that is destined to always be admired each time that it is worn.

Measuring 1.6cm wide at the centre by 4.3cm across, in the centre is a European cut diamond that sits in the middle of a piece of chalcedony. Chalcedony is a natural gemstone from the quartz family and as can be seen, it has the most delicate soft colour to it. Surrounded by a border of facetted black onyx which is then surrounded by twenty four single cut diamonds, this is then all highlighted further by even more black onyx on each side.

Then showing just how much time and thought went into making this, not only are there thirteen more diamonds on each side, but they are rose cut diamonds. All of the diamonds come together to total 0.57 carats and sparkle so beautifully, while also making a wonderful contrast against the black onyx.

Often found in Art Deco jewellery is the millgrain setting which has also been used in this brooch which can be seen as that very elegant crimping around the edge of the setting that completes the look so well.

Perfect to wear in the day, and sure to be admired at night, this Art Deco brooch is just exquisite.
