French Art Deco platinum diamond and garnet brooch

Dating from the 1920's, this French Art Deco platinum diamond and garnet brooch is just exquisite and was made to the highest standard possible and is a true testament to the quality and craftsmanship that was put into making jewellery all those years ago.

Beautifully hand made entirely in platinum, this was the metal of choice during the 1920's thanks in part for its  pure white colour and ability to be drawn into a fine wire creating the intricate work that can be seen here in this brooch, all the while being able to support the diamonds.

When you look at how much thought and detail went into this brooch it will make you fall in love with it even more. Not only are there diamonds set on the edge of the brooch, but looking closely you will see that they graduate in size so perfectly.

Then you have the elegant floral design leading to the centre row of diamonds surrounding the cabochon cut garnet.

In total there are 200 diamonds that total an impressive 3.80 carats, with the larger diamonds being European cut diamonds and the smaller the wonderful rose cut diamonds. Needless to say the sparkle emanating from this brooch is incredible and sure to be admired and appreciated from near or far.

The garnet that sits proudly in centre measures 3.90 carats and has such a vibrant rich burgundy colour that stands out so well from the diamonds and platinum.

Measuring 4.8cm by 3.4cm around the edge it is also beautifully hand engraved showing again how exquisitely hand made this brooch was made.

If you love Art Deco jewellery and love brooches, then you will absolutely fall in love with this Art Deco diamond and garnet brooch.
