Here is a magnificent bracelet with 2 wonderful styles intertwined resulting in a truly stunning and unique design.
This bracelet was made in France in the early 1920's Art Deco period, yet still has characteristics of the late 19th and earlier 20th century jewellery with the very sweet and feminine cluster design of diamonds on each end, set right next to a wonderful geometric design set with square cut sapphires set amongst more diamonds in a style very characteristic of the Art Deco period.
Art Deco bracelets will have a very geometric design and the earlier Victorian and Edwardian bracelets more of a femine style so having a bracelet that has both really looks sensational on the wrist.
In the centre of the bracelet is a 1.25 carat sapphire that is the most wonderful blue in colour - a colour that was once described as "cornflower" blue. A terrific feature of this sapphire is that it has not been heat treated. Heat treating sapphires and rubies is a centuries old practice to improve both the colour and clarity of the stone and does not mean that the stones are not natural or man made and is completely normal to find, however to get a sapphire that has not been heat treated makes this bracelet even more special.
Highlighting the bracelet even more are a further 24 sapphires and 30 diamonds that really give this bracelet an elegant sparkle.
The bracelet was made in 18ct white gold and platinum and measures 18.2cm in length by 4.5mm wide and is such a spectacular example of an Art Deco bracelet that it will always stand out and be admired.
