Hand engraved Victorian era bangle
$985.00
For centuries, the ivy design was used to represent ever lasting love, friendship or marriage, and as the Victorians were very romantic, they often continued this theme and design in the jewellery made during the 1800’s as can be seen here in this very lovely antique bangle.
Made in sterling silver in the 1890’s, it measures 31mm wide and as it is hinged, this allows it to sit lovely and close to the skin making it very comfortable to wear all the time.
With the hand engraving continuing all across the front, the time needed to do all of this intricate work by hand would have been immense and hand engraving is so much more beautiful that engraving by a machine ir simply stamped out.
Still in wonderful condition even after 130 years have passed since it was made, this will so easily suit any woman of any age.
