Rado watches are famous for their ceramic cases, however before making ceramic cased watches they produced some truly fabulous wrist watches and here is a ladies groovy vintage Rado watch straight from the 1960’s in the most amazing watch case that looks amazing both on and off the wrist.
Made in a heavy gold capped case that measures 17mm across plus the Rado crown by 27mm in length, the case actually has a “scooped” effect that adds to the charm and so typical of the fantastic watches and jewellery made during the 1960’s.
At the bottom of the page, there is an extract from the Rado catalogue in German which says “Massive cases with strong gold plating, movements with 17 jewels, luxury dials.” Described as “…the new line, designed by artists for the modern female
elegance and for women who love the extraordinary”
Model C in the picture is this one which cost in Germany 152 DM.
Although a small dial, it is still easy to read with the gold hands set against the black dial, and we put this strap on the watch and can change it to plain black or various other colours if desired.
Inside is a 17 jewelled manual wind movement that has been fully serviced, runs great and comes with our one year warranty.
This is one of the coolest vintage watches that you could ever hope for and looks so amazing on the wrist, and is destined to always be admired and a real conversation starter.
