Magnificent antique cabochon garnet brooch in 20 carat gold

Here is a truly spectacular and magnificent antique cabochon garnet brooch in 20 carat gold that dates from the mid-Victorian era and is destined to always be admired and commented on.

This antique pendant has been independently XRF tested and has come back as being made in 20 carat gold. While this is a less common carat of gold, it was a standard that was able to be used in Dublin.

Set with nine cabochon garnets in the top section, there are a further three cabochon cut garnets in the lower section. Not only is this lower section attached by two chains, but this allows it to move and sway so elegantly adding a further element of charm and character to an already very beautiful antique brooch.

The detail of this brooch combined with the garnets is so tactile to hold and feel and will continue to get the admiration that it deserves no matter where or when it is worn.

Measuring 42mm across by 97mm from top to bottom, on the back reveals a gorgeous and very sweet locket compartment that measures a dainty 5.5mm in diameter.

From top to bottom, this is such an incredible antique brooch that is just spectacular and will certainly be loved and admired.
