Magnificent antique Georgian era Imperial topaz and pearl necklace

$8,700.00

Here is such an elegant necklace that has all the grace and style of the Georgian era when it was made.

Exquisite in its design, the necklace was made in 18 carat yellow gold in the early 1800’s and is still in wonderful condition even after close to 200 years have passed since it was made.

Set with one oval Imperial topaz at the top that weighs 2.40 carats and is surrounded by 24 pearls, below this is the gorgeous chain link draping elegantly across, as well as a sweet double chain that suspends below to hold another Imperial topaz that measures  2.70 carats and is surrounded by 23 pearls. However what makes this one even more exciting, is that it isn’t a traditional heart shape, rather what is called a “witches heart” due to one side being slightly bent in.  A witches heart goes as far back as the 15th Century, and was used to ward off evil spirits.

Imperial topaz has such a rich, golden colour and is the most prized of all the topaz colours, and with exceptional colour and clarity to both of these stones, as well as the charm of being surrounded by the pearls, this is a necklace that is destined to always be admired.

The detail to the chain is incredible and measures 40.5cm, allowing this to sit perfectly across the neck.
