Product code: ES7923 Categories: Sold Items, Sold earrings.Here are a pair of museum quality antique micromosaic earrings from the 1860’s that are just spectacular and destined for any lover of antique jewellery of exceptional quality.
Micromosaic jewellery was made using incredibly small pieces of ceramics, glass or pebbles known as tesserae, and arranging the painstakingly over time into incredible works of art. There is such a difference between “tourist ware” micromosaic jewellery and ones such as these earrings which take micromosaic jewellery to a whole new level.
Made in the mid-Victorian period of the 1860’s, not only are these earrings is wonderful condition, but it is also a testament to the quality of artisans that went into making both the micromosaic panels as well as the earrings themselves.
Set in 18ct yellow gold, each earring measures 20.2mm across at its widest section by 42.6mm from the bottom to the top. With the most delightful swan design in the centre, there is also a very attractive micromosaic section at the top.
With incredible detail to the setting as well as the micromosaic sections, these are arguably one of the finest pair of micromosaic antique earrings around.
