Made in the early 1970’s in 18 carat yellow gold, this is the Patek Philippe Ellipse reference 3855 with a very rare case shape along with a highly coveted Sigma dial.

To begin with, a bit about the sigma dial. Looking at the bottom of this dial, you will note that on each side of the word “Swiss:, there is the Greek letter, sigma which can be seen here σ. What this subtle yet important mark designates, is that the hands and index markers are in solid gold. Used by a few watch companies in Switzerland from 1970, it was among its main reason to signify when gold parts were on the dial to subsequently add to both the financial and intrinsic value of a watch. The gold hand and index markers stand out sensationally against the vivid blue dial, and is certain to catch the eyes of all who see it. This blue is the perfect colour to compliment the gold case, dial and index markers, and the watch is fitted on a band that we had custom made band by the illustrious watchband making workshop, Torre in Italy.

Then there is the case that was made with the corners cut as opposed to being oval as are most Patek Philippe Ellipse watches. This case shape is so rare and unique and has such an elegance to it that will make it look perfect with any suit or smart attire.

Inside the watch is the gorgeous manual wind Patek Philippe calibre 215 that has just been completely serviced by our in-house watchmaker and comes with our two year warranty. Measuring a mere 2.55mm in height, the movement has a 44 hour power reserve and runs perfectly.
