Product code: NS522 Categories: Sold Items, Sold Rings.This diamond engagement ring was beautifully hand made by our Master Jeweller in not only a style and design reminiscent of yesteryear, but is also set with genuine antique cut diamonds, including the wonderful mine cut diamond in the centre.
Made entirely in platinum, the mine cut diamond in the centre measures 1.58 carats and looks amazing sitting there so proudly. It is N in colour and VVS1 in clarity, and the diamond has such a natural warm colour to it that really is so wonderful and exciting. So many people are caught up with wanting a very white diamond, however although this diamond is an N colour, it has such a lovely tone to it that looks even better set into the pure white of the platinum. Highlighted by three single cut diamonds set on each side that come together to total 0.18 carats, these diamonds not only add to the sparkle, but highlight the fine detail on each shoulder.
This is such a magnificent diamond engagement ring that is so beautiful and will no doubt always be loved forever.

Platinum diamond engagement ring set with a mine cut diamond
This antique style diamond engagement ring was hand made by our Master Jeweller in platinum. Set with a genuine antique mine cut diamond that measures 1.58 carats, the mine cut diamond was first developed at the start of the 1700’s.
This cut is the closest resemblance to today’s brilliant cut, and are referred to as old mine cuts, or old miners. These were cut often squarish or cushion shaped, with quite a steep angle on the crown and pavilion, to maximise weight retention. As well as this, the “old miners” often had quite a large culet or “collet”, the horizontal base formed by the blunting of a point when the stone is cut as a brilliant.
