Sterling silver 1906 demi-hunter pocket watch

A demi-hunter pocket watch, also known as a half hunter pocket watch, is one that has a front lid with a circle cut out in the centre. With the hour hand being a “double spade” that has two hour pointers, and the minute hand long, when the case is closed, you can still read the time and differentiate between the hour and minute hands.

And this particular one was made by Symons & Sons and has recently been serviced by our watchmakers and is in full working order.

Made in London in 1906 in a sterling silver case that measures 50mm across by 70mm to the top of the bow, it has a lovely smooth case that feels so nice to hold in the palm of your hand. With a wonderful heft to it, the outside case as does the white enamel dial, both display elegant and traditional Roman numerals, and the dial also has the seconds counter at the bottom.

This is a crown wind and pin set pocket watch, meaning that the movement is wound via the crown, and the time set by pressing on the discreet pin to the side of the bow, then turning the crown to set the hands.

With a lovely movement that is in full working order, this antique pocket watch would be a lovely addition to any collection, or a wonderful gift.
