Rare antique 15ct gold Albert chain
Albert or fob watch chains as they are also called, were originally designed for a gentleman to hold a pocket watch at one end and the key to wind it at the other with the tee bar connected to the waistcoat such as with cufflinks. Years later when men stopped using pocket watches and started to wear wrist watches, women years later started to wear these around their neck where they are quite often seen today and here is a rare antique 15ct gold Albert chain that is made up of the most beautiful link design.
15ct gold was only used for a bit over 70 years until 1931 and it has such a beautiful rose colour to it that looks so beautiful whether worn around the neck or attached to a pocket watch.
This one is a double Albert meaning that there is chain coming from both sides of the Tee bar and from end to end measures 40.5cm in length and is fitted with one swivel and one bolt ring and is very easy to take on and off.
With a gorgeous knot design link, this 15ct gold Albert is as beautiful as it is rare as 15ct gold Alberts certainly don’t come up very often and this one is in excellent condition and can still easily be worn every day and night.
