18 carat gold vintage Rolex 6567 with the rare expandable band

Here is a watch that is the epitome of a classic vintage Rolex watch, that has so many outstanding features making it a superb watch for any milestone occasion, or for the astute watch collector.

This Rolex dates from 1956 and was made in solid 18 carat gold and feels perfect on the wrist.

The dial is 100% original and it has achieved such a lovely patina that adds to the charm and character of the watch and looks so smart peaking out from under a suit. With those gorgeous index markers that are so typical of the styling of the 1950's, this is one dial that ticks all the right boxes. The solid gold case measures 34mm across plus the Rolex crown, and where many watches have increased in size to over 40mm and watches under are looked upon as being "small", this was a gents watch when it was made, and will easily suit a male or female today and always look so refined on the wrist.

Then there is the band which is again all original and unlike other Rolex Oyster bands, this one actually has springs inside the links allowing it to fit so comfortably around the wrist. Finding these original bands in gold are so incredibly hard to come by, let alone one in this condition, making this watch even more exciting to see on the wrist.

Inside it is powered by the twenty five jewelled automatic Rolex calibre 1030 which was Rolex's first in-house made movement of the 1000 series of movements, and even better, this still has its original butterfly rotor. Just back from a complete service from our in-house watchmaker who himself used to work for Rolex, needless to say that it keeps perfect time and comes with our twelve month warranty.

This is such an exciting watch that will no doubt be admired by all who see it.

Description

18 carat gold vintage Rolex 6567 with the rare expandable band

18 carat gold vintage Rolex 6567 with the rare expandable band made in 1956.

This vintage Rolex 6567 has just been completely serviced by our own in-house Rolex trained watchmaker. The movement, case and dial are all original, and the movement is also fitted with its original butterfly rotor.

A brief history on the Rolex calibre 1030.

Not many people are aware that Rolex (like many watch companies before and since) used to use movements made by other watch companies and adapt and adjust them to their needs and standard, and this was the case until Rolex developed and made their first in-house calibre the 620.

The 1000 series of movements by Rolex was the start of their mass production of movements which started with their beautiful calibre 1030. Since its debut in 1950, it was quickly regarded as a highly reliable and robust movement that was seen the Rolex Oyster Perpetual, Rolex Explorer and the famous Rolex Submariner ref 6536 and 6538.

This was a twenty five jewelled movement that was produced between 1950 until 1959.
