$0.00

The Rolex Submariner would have to be the most iconic Rolex watch and one of the most sought after and definitive collectors Rolex Submariner watch would have to be without a doubt the infamous Rolex Red Submariner 1680.

The Rolex 1980 was first introduced around 1966/7 and until 1977 has the highly sought after red writing. This Rolex 1680 has the Mark IV dial which is a “feet first” dial meaning that the depth rating of 660 feet comes before the equivalent 200 meters. While on this, it also has the “open 6” where the 6’s on the 660 feet are “open” as opposed to later ones where the 6 was completely closed.

A vintage Rolex is all about the dial, and the dial itself has achieved a perfect patina as have the hands and sweep seconds. The look is just perfect and will always be admired whenever it is worn.

Measuring the iconic 40mm across plus the Rolex screw down crown, it is fitted on its original Rolex Oyster band with the numbered 280 end links.

The case back is numbered for being made in the 1st quarter of 1970 and this is backed up by the 2.9 million serial number that is exactly as it should be for a 1970 Rolex. With its original Rolex box, it also has its original Chronometer certificate and papers stating that it was sold in 1974 and it is not uncommon to see a Rolex manufacture date and sale date differing.

Inside the automatic movement runs perfectly and comes with our twelve month warranty and no matter where or when this is worn, this is always going to get the attention it deserves as one of the finest Rolex Red Submariner 1680 with box and papers around.
