Solid 18 carat gold antique Charles Frodsham pocket watch made in 1892
$0.00
Charles Frodsham pocket watches are known as some of the finest to ever come out of England, and here is a magnificent antique Charles Frodsham pocket watch that was made in solid 18 carat yellow gold in 1892 and has been completely serviced and overhauled and runs as beautiful today as when it was made over a century ago.
This magnificent pocket watch not only looks good, but feels magnificent to hold in the palm of your hand thanks to the smooth solid gold case and incredibly robust movement. With the case measuring 45mm across by 63.5mm from the bottom to the top of the bow, this is the perfect example of a gents pocket watch of the time that would have been for no doubt a very eminent and well regarded person.
The dial like the case is spotlessly clean and easy to read with the beautiful traditional Roman numerals and along with being signed with his name, it also has “AD FMSZ” The coded letters AD Fmsz can be seen on the dials and movements on some Frodsham timepieces. This cryptogram corresponds to 1850, the year Charles produced his new caliper watch, and was used thereafter as a sign of the highest quality of movements produced.
And this can evidently be seen in the quality of the movement which is absolutely divine to admire. It was work like this that proved just what high quality was being produced and why today after all these years, a Frodsham pocket watch is looked upon as a work of the highest standard.
From every aspect that you look at this pocket watch, there is no doubt as to why worldwide an antique Charles Frodsham pocket watch is still so highly regarded, even by today’s standard.
