Sterling silver Scottish agate basket hilt sworn and shield brooch

Queen Victoria loved her Stuart ancestry, and made "Pebble jewellery" so fashionable and popular, and here is an antique brooch is designed with a basket hilt sword. This style of sword was a favourite of the Jacobites who were supporters of King James VII of Scotland and II of England, and were most prevalent during the 17th and 18th Centuries.

This one dates from the 1890's and was made in sterling silver and set with some wonderfully coloured agates that makes such a beautiful contrast against the silver.

Measuring 7.8cm in length by 2.8cm wide, this brooch will always be able to be worn with a multitude of outfits, thanks to the wonderful colours that it displays.

This antique brooch is designed with a basket hilt sword. This style of sword was a favourite of the Jacobites who were supporters of King James VII of Scotland and II of England, and were most prevalent during the 17th and 18th Centuries.
