Sterling silver Victorian era Albertina

$1,200.00

Originally made to connect to a ladies pocket watch at one end with the swivel, and the tee bar connected to her outfit, more often today Albertinas are worn as a bracelet where they look so elegant.

This particular Albertina is made in sterling silver in the Victorian era of the 1890’s, and is made with a fancy links, a gorgeous twist design tee bar, a very charming clam, and and the foxtail link tassel.

From end to end the Albertina measures 23cm,

When the swivel is clipped into the round link near the tee bar it measures 18cm and is the perfect length to wear as a bracelet, and will certainly be commented on each time that it is worn.

Perfect for day or night, this is a lovely example of how beautiful antique jewellery can be, as well as being so incredibly elegant.

When was the Victorian era?

The Victorian era was from 1837 until 1901. Until Queen Elizabeth II, Queen Victoria was the longest ruling monarch in British history. Queen Victoria was influential in not just politics, but also fashion. After Prince Albert died in 1861, Queen Victoria went into a perpetual state of mourning. During this time until her death, she wore only black, and popularised mourning jewellery.
