This antique bangle was made over 130 years ago and looks as beautiful and elegant today as when it was made, and is destined to always be admired each and every time that it is worn.
Made in 15 carat gold in the Victorian era of the 1890’s, in the centre is a 0.26 carat European cut diamond that makes the centre of that romantic flower design that is surrounded by six pearls. And not only are there an additional ten pearls on each side, but the design as well as the fact that they graduate in size adds even more charm and character to this beautiful bangle that will be perfect to wear day or night.
Being a hinged bangle will allow it to sit nice and close to the wrist, and is further protected by being fitted with a safety chain for added security.

Victorian antique pearl and diamond bangle made in 15 carat gold. This antique bangle is set with a European cut diamond in the centre and highlighted by pearls.
What is a European cut diamond?
During the mid 19th century, the old European cut came into focus, and was an attempt to change the old mine cut stones into a more perfect round cut. The European cut diamond can be considered as the first true round brilliant cut diamonds. The facets from the old miners were kept in their same position, but changed shape to a more round and evenly shaped stone.
The culets became smaller, as it was realised that light could leak out from this point in the stone. The development of the modern brilliant cut occurred in the early part of the 20thcentury with further modifications through the century. Diamond cutters apply the brilliant cut to other shapes, and this very exacting skill continues to enthrall craftsman and enthusiasts alike.
