Exquisite Victorian Antique Detachable Diamond Brooch

$8,250.00

Here is an incredible antique brooch that is versatile in the way it is worn.

Hand made in the Victorian era of the 1870’s in 15 carat gold and silver, the reason that silver was used instead of white gold or platinum, is that it was not until the early 1900’s that white gold was invented, and platinum although already discovered, was not used in jewellery until around this same time as there was not the technology to be able to let it reach melting point for fine jewellery work.

And what makes this brooch so amazing is that the lower section can easily be removed to wear just as a diamond star burst brooch, or added to make an incredible statement. This is such a simple yet ingenious way to make this such an impressive looking brooch.

In the main brooch section, there are a total of 26 diamonds comprising of mine cut diamonds and rose cut diamonds that total 2.42 carats, and in the lower detachable section are more rose cut diamonds and mine cut diamonds that total 0.29 carats.

The star burst section measures 3cm in diameter, and with the lower section added it measures 7cm in length, and day or night there  is no doubt that this will always get the attention that it rightly deserves.

This is a magnificent brooch that is destined to become a much loved and treasured family heirloom to pass down through the generations.
