Victorian era antique garnet and diamond ring made in the 1890’s
Made in the late Victorian period of the 1890’s, this antique garnet ring is set with four single cut diamonds. As technology was not available to cut these small diamonds with fifty eight facets like the brilliant cut diamonds, the single cut diamond was used for smaller diamonds around 0.01 carat to 0.05 carats from the late Victorian period of the 1880’s until the 1940’s.
