Victorian garnet brooch and locket

$7,900.00

Here is one of the finest and most elegant antique brooches that you could ever wish to find, and one that is in truly superb condition.

Dating from the mid-Victorian era of the 1870's, this exquisite brooch was made in 15 carat gold and has the most wonderful colour to it that is complimented by the detailed hand engraving and of course that fabulous cabochon garnet at the bottom, which is then further highlighted by the delicate sway of the articulated tassels at the below.

The garnet has such a wonderful rich burgundy-red colour to it, and measures 8.10 carats in weight, and is the perfect compliment to the rich colour of the gold.

Measuring 5.81cm across by 6.9cm, this brooch gets even more exciting when it is turned over to reveal a locket compartment on the back. And once a photo is placed in the back, this will become a much more personal and loved piece by the wearer.

With the lower garnet and locket section able to be removed, this then allows the top section to be worn on its own as a brooch, giving this brooch an entirely new look.

And to make this brooch even more wonderful, it comes with its original fitted box to complete the package and add to the charm and allure of it even more.

This is such an eye catching piece, and one that is in truly exceptional condition, and one that will be admired from across the room, near or far for its grace and elegance.
