Wendt jewellers have been dealing in jewellery and watches in Australia since 1884, and here is a lovely vintage Chronograph watch retailed by Wendt in the 1950's that is fitted with the great Venus 188 movement.
This chronograph watch has such a great look to it with a dial that has achieved such a perfect patina and looks great with the two sub-dials and centre sweep second hand.
The gold plated case measures 34mm across plus the crown and the square shaped pushers and actually appears larger on the wrist than most would imagine.
Inside is the fabulous Venus 188 manual wind movement which keeps perfect time and comes with our twelve month warranty. In 1966, Valjoux bought Venus and re-branded the Venus 188 movement for the Valjoux 7730 which went on to not only make Valjoux famous, but there were an astonishing 175,000 made. And when you consider that Valjoux did not alter the original Venus 188 in any way, it is a testament to this superb movement.
With not only a great dial, but Australian history associated to it as well, and combined with the fantastic movement inside, this is a great example of a vintage chronograph watch that will always be cherished and admired.
