Here is a truly magnificent vintage watch by the esteemed watchmaking company Jaeger Le Coultre that is just as much as piece of high jewellery as it is a watch.
Made in 18 carat yellow gold in 1962, the design of the gold bracelet not only looks and feels so smooth and elegant on the skin, but wraps itself perfectly around the wrist and has such a magnificent tactile feel to it. The way the gold captures the light is highlighted by the seventeen round brilliant cut diamonds that are set into the hinge cover over the watch dial. These diamonds total 0.25 carats, and even the design that they are set into adds even more charm and character to an already very impressive watch.
With the dial displaying a combination of numbers as well as index markers, turning the watch over reveals just why Jaeger LeCoultre are regarded as one of the finest watchmaking companies in the world. This is a back wind watch, meaning that it is manually wound and set via the crown on the back allowing for a very clean look from the front. Being back wind allows for the crown to not interfere with the design of the watch without any interference to the style.
Measuring 18.2cm in length by 2.2cm wide, this is a remarkable watch that is stunning from all aspects and angles.
